A TENSE tale of kidnap and its impact on the victim is the plot for The Taking of Zena Charbonne, which comes to The Salberg at Salisbury Playhouse on May 15 and 16.

As the wife of the Environment Minister, Zena Charbonne enjoys a charmed life that is full of comfort and certainty. But everything changes when she is violently snatched and her world becomes a place of isolation and torment.

Fighting to survive in a terrifying situation, Zena finds herself drawn closer to her kidnapper until she no longer knows what, or who, is real. She needs to be free but at what price? This psychological thriller looks at the lengths people will go to gain their freedom and stay alive.

The Taking of Zena Charbonne stars Catherine Gilliard. Her performance is accompanied by a live soundtrack composed and performed by cellist Robin Mason with video by Tim Brinkhurst.

The Taking of Zena Charbonne will be performed in The Salberg at Salisbury Playhouse at 7.45pm on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May.
