THE Museum of Army Flying’s main calendar event returns on Saturday from 10am to 6pm.

Wartime Wallop is a day of fun for all the family and aims to bring the world of army aviation to life through one of its most pivotal time periods in this all-day, outdoor special event.

Visitors will be able to get up close to historic aircraft including the recently re-serviced Sioux helicopter.

There will also be a display of historic military vehicles and re-enactors from Homefront History, Commonwealth and Imperial Forces Living History and Chalk Valley Living History will bring all things wartime to life.

The Second World War bomb disposal display group will be on hand with an explosive demonstration and visitors will also be able to try their hand at the laser-gun range.

The Apache Café will be open until 6pm and as well as their usual delicious fare, they will also be serving up a special barbecue throughout the day and there is plenty of space for picnics.

The Southern Counties Organ Festival will be on hand to provide musical entertainment and all visitors will be able to look around the museum as well.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for children and concessions, and family tickets are available for £40 – for more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.armyflying.com/wartime-wallop/ or call the Museum on 01264 784421.
