THE Farley Music Festival returns for its 14th year this week.

It has a reputation for top quality classical music performed by world-class musicians in the intimate setting of Farley’s historic 17th century, Wren-style church.

This year’s festival began on June 9, runs to June14 and will include three piano recitals from brilliant pianists as well as a concert featuring the most beloved opera arias performed by Opera Lyrica and performances from The Wiltshire Quartet and The Farley Chorale.

The festival has become a highlight in Wiltshire’s classical music calendar and attracts classical music fans from across the South West. In recent years it has featured performances from leading musicians, including Benjamin Grosvenor, Philip Lawson and Andrew Wickens.

This year’s programme features solo piano concerts from two outstanding young scholars of the Royal Academy of Music – Alexandra Vaduva, a Romanian rising star, who started playing at the age of four and has gone on to win numerous national and international awards, will play tonight and Anahit Chaushyan, pictured, a talented Armenian pianist who has performed in many of the greatest venues of the world, will play tomorrow.

The final night of the festival on Saturday will feature a programme of the most beloved opera arias performed by a stellar cast of young talent from Opera Lyrica who promise to make you laugh and cry.

The concerts will be held in the small and intimate venue of All Saints’ Church in Farley which has a comfortable capacity of just 150 people. The unusual village church was built in 1689 and has extraordinary acoustics that provide a perfect setting for classical music concerts.

A festival evensong will then be held at the church to close the festival on Sunday.
