MUSIC fans will be flocking to Bemerton Heath on Saturday, July 25 when the free Festival on the Heath gets underway.

Featuring With bands from across the country and two stages, the line up includes rock, jazz, indie, grime and Americana music.

Among the bands are the Foo Forgers, Flashfires, Redhead, Echoic, School of Rock, the Gabriel Wareing Jazz Quartet plus Eddie Vortex & The Cyclones.

Alex Gonzato, lead singer of the indie guitar band Flashfires from Basingstoke, said: “Our music has been influenced by bands from the Arctic Monkeys to Queen, Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes.

“We love festivals – they’re a great experience and quite different to any other gig as you have to tailor a lot of your set to those people watching.”

The festival will take place at Pembroke Park School from 1pm to 9pm.

The day has been organised by Salisbury music business The Sound Emporium which has teamed up with the Bemerton Heath Residents Association.
