SALISBURY-based all-female group Juno Theatre is inviting aspirational women theatre-makers to participate in their first workshop to be held at Hale Hall, Salisbury next Saturday, November 28 from 10am to 4pm.

The one day workshop aims to give theatre writers and practitioners the space, time and inspiration to: n Experiment with the elements of Disney’s "Imagineering" concept that makes audiences connect with the drama.

n Experience bringing a play to life with a director’s eye-view of the creative process.

n Explore with the support of other participants new ways of creating a three-dimensional compelling piece of drama.

The creative day will be facilitated by Bristol-based theatre director Nancy Medina, who has an MA in directing from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has directed for the New Vic, Shakespeare’s Globe and Edinburgh Fringe as director and assistant director. Juno chairwoman Sue Ashby said: “It’s an exciting opportunity because women are under-represented across the board in theatre.

“The focus of ‘Imagineering Your Play’ will be to explore new writing concepts and begin the development of women writers at all levels of ability."

“We want to add to the rich arts mix that exists in Salisbury and the surrounding areas, and to grass roots theatre in particular.”
