BE PART of a come-and sing performance of Verdi's Requiem for Salisbury Hospice.

Salisbury Chamber Chorus is holding the free concert on Saturday at St Martin's Church, Salisbury, 6pm.

Prior to the concert a workshop is being held from 10.30am to 5.30pm.

Chamber chorus musical director Simon McEnery leads the day, accompanied by David Coram on piano.

"Verdi’s Requiem is an extraordinary work that marries the drama of opera with the seriousness of church music." said Simon.

"The Chamber Chorus performed the work twice in the autumn, and we are delighted now to invite others to join us. Already, we’re expecting people from as far afield as Berkshire and the Isle of Wight.

"I can promise an action-packed, enjoyable day, raising a good sum for the hospice in the process."

Singers can sign up by contacting Genny Davidson Smith by emailing gennycds@waitrose.com or going to salisburychamberchorus.org

The fee for singers is £20, including score hire, lunch, tea, coffee and cake.

Doors open for the concert from 5.45pm. Entry is free and all are welcome. No tickets are needed.
