GARDENING enthusiasts are in for a treat and can spend an evening with experts James Alexander-Sinclair and Cleve West.

Charity Horatio’s Garden is teaming up with the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) to host the evening with the green-fingered pair who will be talking about Healing Gardens.

The event takes place on Thursday, March 10, 7pm-9pm, at Salisbury Arts Centre.

Horatio’s Garden was set up in memory of Bishopstone schoolboy Horatio Chapple who was killed by a polar bear during an expedition in Svalbard in 2011when he was 17.

The first Horatio’s Garden was designed by Cleve West, who has eight Royal Horticultural Society gold medals to his name, and was opened in September 2012 at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre at Salisbury District Hospital.

James Alexander-Sinclair is a designer, journalist and broadcaster who regularly writes for Gardeners’ World magazine.

He said: “Cleve and I have found the experience of working with Horatio’s Garden both humbling and inspiring. It will be an evening where we hope we can share the excitement we both feel about making these gardens.”

Tickets include a glass of wine. Early booking is recommended.

All profits from the evening will go towards supporting the work of the charity which helps in the rehabilitation of spinal injury patients. For tickets go to shop.horatiosgarden.org.uk
