A SINGER and guitarist from Ringwood has been nominated as 2016 Male Western singer of the year by the Academy of Western Artists in Texas.

Clint Bradley's album Riding after Midnight has also been nominated Western album of the year in the USA by the Western Music Association.

Based in Ringwood, Clint travels widely across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia, Russia and the Japan with his band. He will be playing a live show at ‘The Joiners Arms’ in Southampton on April 16.

He said: "The title track has gone to number two in the Western Music Association most-played western song in the US and the album itself has remained on the top 30 western music album chart since its release last June.

"The live show consists of a four-piece acoustic band playing Western music in an authentic style."

David Allan, who presented the BBC Radio 2 Country show for many years, said during an edition of Country Music People, that if he had to pick one album of the year, this would be it, calling it "real classy Western music".

Clint also recently the featured artist on the front cover of The Western Way the Western Music Associations official publication and in the UK he has been nominated for a host of accolades in the UK Country radio awards.
