THE story of a magic piano that can make people dance is set to cast its spell on audiences at Studio Theatre.
Salad Days is the latest production to grace the stage at the theatre in Ashley Road and is written by Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynolds.
It opened in 1954 in the West End and remained there until 1960 when it closed after 2,283 performances.
The show is built around the tale of a magic piano that can make people dance. Timothy and Jane have just left university and are having to make their way in the world with the help (or hindrance) or their respective families.
Their lack of income is miraculously solved for the summer when they are offered £7 a week to look after the piano, and this leads to a variety of musical adventures.
Salad Days is directed by Camilla Burgess, and it runs from Monday until Saturday, 7.30pm. There will be a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.30pm.
