DUE to phenomenal demand, Jason Donovan has announced more UK dates, including Salisbury, as part of his Ten Good Reasons and Greatest Hits tour.

The theatre star and former Neighbours’ actor returns once more to his pop roots to celebrate not only Christmas but his 1989 five times platinum debut, Ten Good Reasons.

Tickets are now on sale for the December 15 concert at City Hall.

Ten Good Reasons became the biggest selling album of 1989 and remains a massive fan favourite. The album includes two solo number one singles Too Many Broken Hearts and Sealed with a Kiss. It also features a duet with Kylie Minogue, Especially for You, which reached number one.

Jason said: “The response to the spring Ten Good Reasons tour was so overwhelming.

“The audiences seemed to enjoy re-living that particular time in their lives for a short while as much as I did. I am delighted we have the opportunity to play the songs all over again and then play a few Christmas favourites at the same time. The new concerts will give more fans that chance to enjoy the tour.”

Talking about re-living Ten Good Reasons and playing his Greatest Hits to an audience he said: “You know, music has a wonderful opportunity to put you in a time and place, and trigger an emotional connection that no other creative medium can. Ten Good Reasons was a defining moment for me and my fans. It was the perfect marriage between music and personality. And I was only 21 at the time.

“The opportunity to work with Stock Aitken and Waterman, who were the hottest producers at the time, was a dream come true for me. Hearing the completed versions of Too Many Broken Hearts and Especially For You in particular, were moments in my professional life that I will never forget, the door was wide open and I was at the centre of this incredible moment in time. You just knew that something magical was happening.”

The newly announced concerts will see Donovan perform Ten Good Reasons alongside some greatest hits that include Any Dream Will Do, When You Come Back to Me, Nothing Can Divide Us and Happy Together.

Pop star, actor and a musical lead for several decades, eighties icon Jason Donovan shot to superstardom as the heartthrob in the Aussie soap Neighbours. He has gone on to star onstage and screen with his musical theatre credits including The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweeney Todd, Festen, Joseph, and Priscilla Queen to name a few.

Donovan said: “Whether it’s theatre or touring I’ve always placed a high importance on giving my fans a great live show. I’m looking forward to bringing all the pieces together and delivering a show that gives personality, some great memories and most importantly, giving the audience exactly what they want to hear.”
