THE Maskers Theatre returns to the gardens of Hamptworth Lodge near Landford for an open-air performance of George Bernard Shaw’s much-loved classic Pygmalion.
Written in 1912, it tells of phonetics professor Henry Higgins, who makes a bet that he can train a Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, to pass for a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party. It runs until Saturday (July 16), 7.30pm.
The Archery Lawn provides a stunning backdrop for a unique opportunity to experience the play in a rarely performed outdoor setting.
The grounds will be open before the show for picnics.
