SINGER-SONGWRITER Lail Arad will be delighting audiences in Alderholt.

St James’ Church and its annual ReCreate Festival has made the village a destination for music lovers and has featured the likes of BBC Folk Awards winners The Young’uns.

Now the village is hosting London-based Arad who has said she is keen to perform amid the amazing atmosphere and acoustics of St James’ Church.

The concert is on Monday (September 5) at 7pm, and will follow her performance at this year’s Larmer Tree End of the Road Festival.

Local vicar and event organiser, Reverend Pip Martin, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Lail. Talented musicians enjoy singing here, and Lail is just the kind of witty, funny and thoughtful artist who will engage with local people: original she is, but pretentious she is not.”

The support act for the concert is Jonny Phillips of Bournemouth indie-folk band Willowen.

Tickets are £5 in advance, or £8 on the door. They are available online at webuytickets.com.
