NIGHT Must Fall is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

It stars Niamh McGrady (BBC’s The Fall) as Olivia and Will Featherstone as Dan, with former Heartbeat star Gwen Taylor as Mrs Bramson.

They are joined on stage by Daragh O’Malley as Inspector Belsize, with Alasdair Buchan as Hubert, Anne Odeke as Nurse Libby, Mandi Symonds as Mrs Terence and Melissa Vaughan as Dora.

When charming, smooth-talking Dan arrives at old Mrs Bramson’s remote woodland home, he soon wins her trust to the dismay of her niece, Olivia who grows more suspicious after a local woman goes missing and is later found dead.

All the cast were superb. And Featherstone’s portrayal of Dan really adds to the tension as we catch glimpses of his dark nature.

I especially enjoyed the love/hate relationship between Taylor’s character of Mrs Bramson and Mrs Terence (Symonds) and the sharp, witty exchanges between them, which adds some light relief to the intense atmosphere.

The writing was superb as was the setting of Mrs Bramson’s remote woodland home. The littlest touches, like leaves falling outside the window, help to absorb you into the story and transport you into the world of the characters on stage.

The chilling music also helps to ramp up the tension and gets your heart pounding as you wait to find out the fate of the characters.

Night Must Fall is an entertaining and gripping watch with plenty of mystery and intrigue.

The touring production runs at Salisbury Playhouse until September 24. For tickets call 01722 320 333.
