AUDIENCES can enjoy a taste of the Big Apple as Musical Theatre Salisbury bring Broadway hit Annie to City Hall.

The show, which is set in New York during the grips of the Great Depression, takes centre stage next week. It features much-loved songs Tomorrow, It’s a Hard Knock life and NYC.

Two teams of girls play the orphans for alternative performances. The lead role of Annie is played by Lara Makin and Francoise (Maddy) Western.

Russel Haugh plays the billionaire Oliver Warbucks and his efficient personal assistant Grace Farrell is played by Jordan Leech. Kate Sheppard plays Miss Hannigan who runs the orphanage with Robert Preedy as Rooster. David Coxon plays US President Roosevelt.

The cast will be joined by a real live dog on stage. The role of Sandy the dog is played by Guinness.

The show runs for seven performances at the City Hall Salisbury from Tuesday to Sunday. Evening performances start at 7.30pm and there are two matinees on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 at 2.30pm.
