THE first anniversary of the death of music star David Bowie is being marked at Salisbury Arts Centre.
The arts centre will be screening a special tribute to the Starman, which was filmed on the closing night of the Bowie exhibition at the V&A in 2013.
The V&A was given unprecedented access to the David Bowie Archive to curate the first international retrospective of the extraordinary career of Bowie.
The exhibition was the fastest selling in the museum’s history.
The film gives an inside view of a remarkable collection from Bowie’s archive, including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, photographs, film, music videos, set designs, Bowie’s own instruments, fashion and album artwork.
First released in 2013, the film explores the stories behind some of the key objects that document Bowie’s artistic career.
The exhibition curators, Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh, provide expert insight into the collection with contributions from special guests including legendary Japanese fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto and Pulp front-man Jarvis Cocker.
The film is directed by Hamish Hamilton and Katy Mullan.
David Bowie is will be screened at Salisbury Arts Centre on Wednesday, 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01722 321744 or online at salisburyartscentre.co.uk.
