AN internationally-renowned a cappella singing group Oll an Gwella gave some impromptu concerts across the city over the weekend.
The singing group from Newquay were in the city and brought their mix of Cornish male harmonies to entertain visitors at Salisbury Cathedral.
The group were in the city for a special visit to one of its members Andy Pappin who is being treated at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Injury Unit at Salisbury District Hospital after a serious accident last October in Cornwall.
On the Saturday they popped by to give him a surprise performance, which was followed by more singing at the Old George Mall on Sunday where they were able to raise about £150 for the spinal unit.
“We had a lot of fun every where we went,” said Rob Spowart, of Oll an Gwella. “It was a fantastic trip and we were delighted with the reaction we had in Salisbury.”
