STUDIO Theatre’s double bill of entries to the one act play festivals held in Totton and Codford came home with a total tally of four trophies.

The Salisbury amdram group entered two plays into the Totton Festival of Drama and the Woolstore Country Theatre Drama Festival in Codford in March.

An Englishman Abroad by Alan Bennett was named the overall winner at the Woolstore and The Old Lady Shows Her Medals by J M Barrie took the runner-up cup at Totton, coming second out of ten entries from across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

Rachel Fletcher won the Best Actress award at both festivals for her performance as actress Coral Browne in An Englishman Abroad.

Studio Theatre’s latest production, My Cousin Rachel, which is by Daphne du Maurier, has been adapted for the stage by Diana Morgan and is running this week until Saturday, 7.30pm. It is directed by Linda Hayman.
