THE 16th Annual Farley Music Festival promises to be a feast of classical music, performed by some of the world’s most gifted performers.

The event runs from Tuesday (June 20) to Sunday 25 and performers will be giving concerts in the historic surroundings of the iconic Wren-style All Saints’ Church in the picturesque village of Farley.

The festival will open with four week-night concerts played by international musicians from the Royal Academy of Music.

Tuesday, 7pm, will see a performance by Juliette Roos (violin), partnered by her mother, Ilana Mordkovitch-Roos (piano). This will feature works by Mozart: Sonata for piano and violin in E Minor, K. 304, No. 21; Tchaikovsky: Souvenir d’un lieu cher for violin and piano, op.42; Brahms: Sonata for violin and piano in G Major, op. 78, No. 1 Regensonate; Ysaÿe: Sonata for solo violin in E Minor, op.27, No. 4; and Szymanowski: Nocturne and Tarantella, Op.28.

Young Czech-Canadian pianist Karolina Kubálkova will be giving a concert on Wednesday, 7pm. She will be performing a romantic programme of classical music – Brahms: Piano Sonata in C Major, op.1, No. 1; Schumann: Piano Sonata in G Minor, op.22, No. 2; Ravel: Sonatine; and Janá?ek: V Mlhach (‘In the Mists’).

Karolina has already performed in countries as far afield as Canada, USA, Croatia and the Czech Republic. The young star is the daughter of acclaimed musician, the late Antonin Kubálkova.

On Thursday, multi-prize-winning Russian pianist, Amiran Zenaishvili takes to the stage followed by prize-winning Lithuanian pianist Karolina Pancernait? on Friday (pictured on front) who will be playing music by two composers who were also celebrated pianists - Medtner (Piano Sonata op. 38 No. 1, Reminiscenza) and Liszt (Piano Sonata in B MInor). She also will be performing Clementi’s Piano Sonata, op. 25, No. 5.

And on Saturday, 7pm, Hatstand Opera will be presenting their flagship show, Golden Moments from opera

The festival ends on Sunday (June 25), 6pm, with the traditional Festival Evensong sung by local choir Quoque Plures Mulieres. The finale
