A STREETCAR Named Desire by Tennessee Williams is the next production by Studio Theatre in Ashley Road, Salisbury.
First performed in 1947, this masterpiece of steamy passion and prejudice is set in a run-down area of New Orleans in and around the modest apartment rented by Stella and Stanley Kowalski. Stella’s fragile sister, Blanche du Bois, a down and out ‘southern belle’ comes to stay, resulting in a potent and explosive situation. Terry D’onofrio and Sam Luckman star in the production. And with its universal themes, the director, Tamsin Jacson has brought it up-to-date and is staging it in modern dress. It runs from July 17-22 at 7.30pm. Tickets, £10, from Salisbury Information Centre, Fish Row or 01722 342860.
