A FORDINGBRIDGE is author is launching her very first book - Losing Jane.

Ann Biggins is holding a special launch event on Saturday (July 15) at the Fordingbridge Bookshop.

“The book is about and an incredibly strong bond between two girls, Jane and Kim who meet at the age of eleven in September 1968, “ explains Ann. “Jane’s mum disappeared at the start of that year and the local police believe that she has been murdered by her husband but her body has not been found.

“Set in a suburb of Leeds the story spans four decades and is told by Kim, relying on her childhood memories and in an effort to lay the ghosts of her past. She tells what really happened to Jane’s mum and the part she played.”

“Losing Jane is a story that has been in my head for decades and came from a short story I first wrote when I was fifteen. I began to write it properly three and a half years ago and it totally consumed me.

“I have always enjoyed writing and have a large number of note books and memory sticks with full of shorts stories and three first drafts of full manuscripts but was never brave enough to do anything with them.”

The book is already on sale online at Amazon.

Ann says: “I am immensely proud of this book but I am excited and terrified in equal measures at the about the launch on Saturday.”

She has already started writing her second book, which is in the very early stages.

“I found writing the book enjoyable, frustrating and cathartic.”

The launch event starts at 11am.
