TICKETS for the fourth Celebrate Voice Festival are now on sale as the award-winning annual event announces more events than ever throughout the 10-day celebration.

Five-time Grammy award winners The Swingles (Celebrate A Capella), West End star Graham Bickley (Celebrate Musical Theatre), Jazz and Blues act Jacqui Dankworth & Charlie Wood (Celebrate Jazz), and Fado singer Gil Do Carmo (Celebrate World) all feature in the incredible line up in venues in and around Salisbury City Centre.

Folk sensation Cosmo Sheldrake will join nature and folklore expert, Anna Richardson in Celebrate Voice’s first foray into the forest for Celebrate Folk: Nature. Following a day of guided foraging in the Wiltshire woodland, Cosmo will present a twilight concert around a traditional campfire.

Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairytale opera, Hansel and Gretel is the 2017 centerpiece festival production, with a cast of international singers including Madeleine Shaw (English National Opera, Welsh National Opera), Miranda Westcott (Royal Opera House), Claire Egan (English National Opera) and Julian Tovey (Opera North, La Scala, English National Opera). Starring alongside the leading professionals will be local young people forming the acclaimed Children’s Chorus. The Medieval Hall will see a dramatic transformation into a woodland paradise for the Brothers Grimm fairy tale for five performances.

Following two years of sell-out opera productions, Celebrate Operetta adds to the festival’s offerings with a Blackadder/Monty Python-style comedy, mixed with song and spoken word in the Tales of Offenbach, presented by Opera Della Luna. Festival director Lynsey Docherty performs alongside the critically acclaimed cast of singers, Paul Featherstone, Caroline Kennedy, Anthony Flaum and Charles Johnston. Accompanied by a chamber orchestra at Godolphin School’s Blackledge Theatre.

The festival’s commitment to community involvement means there are lots of singing events to take part in, with the return of the popular Instachoir – the festival’s pop-up choir, and a new venture, Corporate Choir, bringing together local Salisbury businesses, charities and organisations for a one-off performance, in Salisbury City Centre. The Celebrate Voice Singing Weekend also returns, led by professional singers and animateurs, suitable for all ages. Contact info@celebratevoice.co.uk to register for these singing opportunities.

Coinciding with half-term, the festival celebrates family with Tommy Foggo - Superhero, a multimedia tale of a life saved, Singing and Signing with the John McNeill Opportunity Centre in Celebrate Makaton, and taking an interactive Opera Quest.

Venues include the Medieval Hall, Cathedral Close, Salisbury Arts Centre and Godolphin School.
