HAROLD Pinter’s Betrayal takes audiences on a journey through the relationships of three people – the love and the lies.
Kirsty Besterman stars in the production which runs in the main house until September 23. She plays Emma, who runs an art gallery and is married to publisher Robert. But all is not well as Emma has an affair with Robert’s best friend Jerry.
The play goes back in time so audiences are taken on a journey of discovery to find out how the characters arrived at this point.
Robert Hands, Kirsty Besterman, and Robert Mountford bring a great dynamic to the roles which work well on stage. However, Donavan Imber playing The Waiter steals the show by bringing some light heartedness to break up the tension.
The set designers must be congratulated for such an innovative set where props would effortlessly come out of the built-in holes as if by magic.
