REDLYNCH Players have been delighting audiences for 60 years and are looking forward to doing “greater things” in the future.

The drama group have been marking the significant milestone and held a special anniversary party.

Redlynch Players chairman Alison Silver said: “Redlynch Players are delighted to celebrate 60 years as a local drama group, delivering entertaining quality drama to the south Wiltshire area and beyond.

“Our 60th Anniversary Party was one attended by friends, patrons and ex members who have all supported us throughout the years.”

In May, the drama group presented its world premiere of Thrush Green, which was adapted from the book by Miss Read. as part of its anniversary celebrations. It was written by Redlynch Player Ron Perry.

Alison said it was “a wonderful culmination of those 60 years”, adding: “We are now looking forward to future plans - an Easter production next year in Corfu, Greece, a major production back at our home, Redlynch, next autumn and the possibility of another world premiere on the horizon.

“This small, yet ambitious group is one which I am extremely proud to be part of and we are looking forward to doing even greater things in the next 60 years.”
