A DOSE of laughter is being offered up at Salisbury Arts Centre.

Barnstormers returns with three comedians from the London comedy circuit introduced by a guest compere.

The no-nonsense Barnstormers Comedy MC Debra-Jane Appleby will introduce comedians Henry Paker, Robert White and Troy Hawke.

Henry Paker decided to give comedy ago after a brief career in computer animation. In 2008 he won the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and since then Henry’s comic talents have seen him carve out a career as a comic writer, stand up, actor and cartoonist.

And Robert White came onto the stand-up scene as a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire competition, and has gone from strength-to-strength, and in 2010 won the Malcolm Hardee main award at the Edinburgh Festival.

Completing the trio of comedians is Troy Hawke.

Barnstormers Comedy takes place at Salisbury Arts Centre on Friday, January 26 at 8.30pm. Doors open at 7.45pm.

Other offerings at the arts centre include the screening of Anime film The Red Turtle today (Thursday) at 7.30pm.

Shipwrecked on a deserted island, a lone man struggles to construct a raft, but his every attempt to leave is thwarted by a huge red turtle who seems intent on having him stay.

It was the first international co-production from Japanese animation giant Studio Ghibli and enlisted the talents of Oscar-winning Dutch animator Michaël Dudok De Wit.
