SALISBURY Playhouse’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk has been nominated in five categories in the Great British Pantomime Awards.

It is in the running to win awards for the best ensemble, best male baddie (Steven Serlin), best leading male (Sam Harrison), best set design (James Button) and best panto (theatres under 750 seats).

Jack and the Beanstalk played to more than 23,000 people during its five-week run over Christmas.

Communications and Sales Director Tim Croall, said: “We’re delighted that Jack and the Beanstalk has received an incredible five nominations at the Great British Pantomime Awards.

“A huge amount of work goes into producing the annual Playhouse pantomime - from the writers, creative and production teams to the Playhouse staff and volunteers who look after our audiences – and not forgetting the brilliant cast.

“We can’t wait to find out who the winners are.”

The awards will be announced at a ceremony at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London on April 15.
