THIS year, Larmer Tree’s main stage will see a female-fronted takeover to mark the centenary of women’s suffrage.

In their second wave of additions, this line-up is completed as Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus adds electronic afro-funk pioneers Ibibio Sound Machine.

The group join headliners First Aid Kit, Tune-Yards, Norwegian producer Susanne Sundfør and new additions experimental pop duo Let’s Eat Grandma and Holland-based singer songwriter Naaz.

As well as Ibibio Sound Machine’s main stage performance, Merrill has invited Brooklyn-based multimedia artist and feminist rapper Miss Eaves. Merrill’s final addition is songwriter and poet Akua Naru.

Speaking about the role of guest curator at Larmer Tree Festival, Garbus said: “It’s a great privilege to be involved in the curation of Larmer Tree’s programming this year. I was happy to include women artists, all of whom I know from past projects and admire for their unique and brilliant voices, laser-focused on a future that is seldom represented in festival programming. I hope audiences will enjoy these artists as much as I do.”

Also added to the programme will be Mercury-nominated Nick Mulvey, singer-songwriter Roo Panes, Noongar musician, Gina Williams, Songhoy Blues, Goat Girl, The Barr Brothers, Barbarossa, IDER, The Wandering Hearts, Hudson Taylor, Steve Knightley, Ryley Walker, Fazerdaze, Amythyst Kiah and Hlemma.

The Larmer Festival takes place on from July 19-22.
