A TISBURY-BASED vocal coach who appeared as a judge on BBC’s All Together Now is on a mission to promote the importance of vocal health.

Mark James, owner and a singing teacher at JNX Productions Music School, was one of 100 people who joined a panel of industry experts on the BBC’s All Together Now to find the next singing sensation.

The show was hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, with the 100 judges led by former Spice Girl Geri Horner.

In a new venture to complement his music school, he wants to help singing groups across the UK to sing more effectively, confidently and healthily.

Combining his singing theory studies and his teaching, Mark has created The ABC of Singing workshop, which he will take to venues across the country.

His workshop will teach the foundation of singing, challenge common misconceptions and show the best and right way to sing.

Mark said: “The ABC of Singing is based on the fact that when a child learns to read, they don’t just pick up Harry Potter and jump straight into learning about Hogwarts.

“They have to learn the basics first starting with ABC, then progress to books that ease them into reading at a suitable level.

“Eventually, they will read Harry Potter. This is the way to learn to sing too.”

Mark said: “I’m looking forward to taking the ABC on tour. It will be exciting to help people across the country enjoy the pleasure of singing in a fun and, most importantly, safe way.”
