BARBARA Hosking CBE is giving a talk titled Working with Edward Heath and Harold Wilson.

A scholarship girl from Cornwall, she rose to work closely with both Harold Wilson and Edward Heath at 10 Downing Street.

In addition to Whitehall, Barbara’s career has taken her from an East African copper mine to the birth of British breakfast Television.

At the age of 91 she ‘came out’ through the medium of her autobiography Exceeding my Brief – Memoirs of a Disobedient Civil Servant.

The talk takes place on Thursday, May 24 at Arundells in The Close, Salisbury, 7pm.
