A NEW show written by Salisbury-based playwright tackles issues of mental health.

Following their sell-out performance of Speci-Man in November 2017, Loosely Based Theatre Company from London is returning to Salisbury with the premiere of their new production Owls.

Owls has been written by local playwright Jayne Woodhouse.

One night on a rooftop, two strangers collide - Anna, who is about to jump, and Steve, the hapless security guard who finds her.

As they begin the search for some connection, Steve discovers that if he wants to save Anna’s life, he must first save his own.

Owls uses humour to create a bold and unflinching view of the challenging issues surrounding attempted suicide and mental illness.

It builds the hope that, eventually, everyone can fly.

The performances of Owls coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week and will be supporting the Salisbury branch of Samaritans with a retiring collection.

The production contains strong language and themes some people might find upsetting.

Owls is at The Chapel in Milford Street, Salisbury on Friday (May 18) and Saturday (May 19), 7.45pm. The bar opens at 7pm.

The performance on Friday will be followed by a question and answer session.

Tickets are £10, £8 concessions and are available online at chapelnightclub.co.uk/events.html. A booking fee applies. They will also be available at the door.
