A DISCO with a difference is being held at Salisbury Cathedral.

The cathedral’s outreach team is running a silent disco as part of a programme of events for families and young people designed to celebrate and encourage wellbeing and happiness.

The event on Saturday, June 2 invites visitors to put on their dancing shoes and enjoy a unique opportunity to explore the Cathedral’s East End whilst moving and grooving to some disco classics.

It takes place at 11.05am, 1.05pm, 2.30pm and 7pm. Tickets are £5 per adult, £3 per child and just 90 headsets are available per session.

There are activities for all ages with an all-day barbecue in the Cloisters and pre-schoolers and their parents or carers can join Julie Lindsay on singing tours of the cathedral and lawns.

From Hickory Dickory Dock to Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush, Julie sings traditional nursery rhymes and leads her groups on a merry dance.

Sing it Back tours are free and take place at 10am and 2pm.

Arty types can take their sketch books for a walk and draw parts of the outside of the cathedral in the two-hour Mindfulness Sketchbook Walk which starts at 10.30am and is for children seven or over.

And story-telling session, Tall Tales Together, invite children to create their own stories inspired by cathedral treasures, and a poetry exchange.

Find the lyrics, quotes and phrases hidden in the trees around the Close.
