MUSIC, comedy and more awaits revellers at the Larmer Tree Festival which returns after taking a year-long break.

Jake Bugg and First Aid Kit are to headline the main stage at this year’s Larmer Tree Festival.

The festival, which runs from today until Sunday, takes place within the Victorian Pleasure Gardens on Cranborne Chase.

Also taking to the main stage is Swedish sister act First Aid Kit, fresh from the recent release of their critically-acclaimed album Ruins.

Other acts feature in the festival line-up include Susanne Sundfør, Nadine Shah, Elephant Sessions, Chris Wood, Naaz, Seamus Fogarty and Josienne Clarke, Ben Walker, Broken Brass Ensemble, Icelandic quintet Mammút, Flamingods, alternative soul-star Tawiah, Chelou, folk four-piece Lankum, Halo Maud, and The Well Oiled Sisters.

In recognition of 100 years of suffrage, Saturday’s main stage at Larmer Tree will be fronted by women in music.

Salisbury singer Laura Goldthorp will also be taking to the stage at this year’s event after winning the festival’s Breakthrough Music Awards.

Comedians Sara Pascoe, Mark Watson, Dane Baptiste and Jen Brister are part of the comedy line-up for the Larmer Tree Festival .

Also featuring in the event programme are hand-picked theatre and performance from Salisbury Playhouse by former Squeeze member, Nick Harper, Living Spit, and pop-up theatre.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival acts will also be previewing at Larmer Tree, with performances such as Bubble Butt from Evelyn Mok, and Rhys Nicholson’s Seminal as well as comedy from Athena Kugblenu’s and Matt Winning.

The festival also features a selection of talks and panels, including Hidden Histories and Heroines hosted by Sara Veal of Huhbub and showcasing award-winning authors Jasper Fforde, Viv Groskop and Catherine Johnson.

Festival-goers of all ages will also be able to get crafty and get involved in activities and workshops including yoga, Tai Chi and writing in the woods.

And for the first time there will also be a Larmer Spa, giving festival-goers the chance to pamper themselves while they party.
