TWENTY-two young performing arts students aged between six and 13 will be sharing Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre stage with Jonathan Ansell next week in the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Whistle Down the Wind.
The students are all members of Stagecoach Salisbury and Downton Theatre Arts Schools and were invited by the Bill Kenwright producers to be the supporting choir for Whistle Down the Wind.
Jonathan Ansell was the lead vocalist in X-Factor runners-up G4 and, in February 2008, his first solo album, Tenor At The Movies, was such a success that it made him the youngest ever tenor to top the classical charts.
Whistle Down the Wind is based on the 1960s film starring Hayley Mills and Alan Bates and features many popular songs including Boyzone hit No Matter What. Tickets are on sale from the box office on 023 8071 1811.
