BEING bought guitars on their 11th birthday meant the future looked musical for identical mirror twin sisters, Christie and Louise Miller.

The twins, whose home is in Amesbury, were brought up surrounded by musical influences. Their mother was in a semi professional band as well as being a session singer, and their father in a band. Listing to Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsay Buckingham paved the way.

“After listening and watching the way Lindsey Buckingham played, a picking guitar style, I knew that that was what I wanted to do,” says Christie.

Their foray into songwriting began in their early teens and they went on to spend hours practising and rehearsing songs to entertain friends.

They both attended the Btech music course at Salisbury College, playing at pubs and clubs while working at Stonehenge visitor centre to pay for studio time and musical equipment.

As well as Lindsey Buckingham, the girls also site The Dixie Chicks and ABBA as major influences. Both girls are self taught, writing their own songs as well as playing guitar.

In 2009, they had the opportunity to record at Peter Gabriel’s RealWorld studio in Bath. “It was fantastic. We learned so much,” says Louise.

Now, Jonnie Blackburn from the recording demos in Bath has invited them to join the My Major Company label.

“Christie and Loui are very beautiful and talented singer/songwriters and are exceptional guitarists. The modern edge to their music combined with their brilliant harmonies means they appeal to a wide audience,” he says.

Following the Bath sessions, the twins travelled to America to play two short tours which saw them perform at internationally renowned music venues.

“It was amazing. We got to play in the Living Room in New York where Norah Jones plays,” says Christie.

For now, the twins are back in the recording studio and looking ahead to polishing the songs, which will make up their debut album.
