OXFAM Art Gallery will be closing its doors next month and sadly will no longer be hosting exhibitions by local artists.
Throughout February you can see the gallery’s final exhibition.
Entitled Future: Unknown, the exhibition is a celebration of the future of art in Salisbury by young artists from The Unit. Giant origami sculpture, hand-crafted brooches, photography and paintings all feature in this exhibition which you will find above the Oxfam bookshop in Catherine Street, Salisbury until February 25.
* ALL change for Salisbury’s Plain Arts group, with new faces at the helm.
The Plain Arts group is responsible for Salisbury’s biennial Arts Trail and supports the visual arts in the city and surrounding areas with workshops and events.
Sculptor Charlotte Moreton (pictured with one of her willow pigs) has now taken over the role as co-ordinator from Jane Wilkinson.
Other members of the steering group include photographers Vicky Slater and Fiona McWilliam. Anyone wishing to get involved in helping the city’s visual artists can contact info@plainartssalisbury.
