Stomp at the Mayflower
12:03pm Thursday 27th September 2012 in Entertainments
FROM pots and pans to plastic bags, newspapers to kitchen sinks, if it makes a noise, the Stomp performers will use it.
The show is an explosion of energy and remarkable precision.
The talented group of eight work together to create an entrancing collective rhythm while still expressing individual characteristics - all without even speaking.
The set is colourful and interesting and the "instruments" used – aside from the performers’ own hands and feet - include bits of pipe, shopping trolleys, brushes, bins, and rubber tyres.
A particular highlight was a scene in the dark where they used lighters to create a rhythm as well as a visual display.
And the whole show is punctuated with genuine laugh out loud visual comedy, suitable for all ages.
The audience is invited to participate throughout by clapping, tapping, clicking and stomping. Brilliant from start to finish.
The show is on until Saturday, September 29.
