THE Eberle Quartet is celebrating its 20th anniversary by inviting friends and colleagues to play with them in their regular series of concerts – called Eberle ‘Plus’ – at St Laurence’s Church, Downton.

Over the past two decades the quartet has enjoyed performing throughout E n g l a n d , France, Italy and Holland.

Their first concert of the season, on October 14 at 3pm, will see the q u a r t e t joined by two young professional players, George White (viola) and Bryony Moody to play Tchaikovsky’s string sextet Souvenir de Florence.

Both White and Moody started their musical careers as choristers at Salisbury Cathedral.

Moody has now completed her studies at Leeds University while White is in his final year at the Royal Academy of Music, London.

A former pupil of Muriel Daniels, Moody went on to study with Sue Lowe and took part in international cello courses receiving coaching from Louise Hopkins, Pierre Doumenge and Alexander Baillie. She spent a year in Strasbourg studying cello with Frank Van Lamsweerde and chamber music with Armand Angster.

White is currently studying viola with Garfield Jackson of the Endellion Quartet and, as a passionate chamber musician, has received coaching from many eminent musicians including members of the Chilingirian, Kuss, Wihan and London Haydn Quartets. He is a laureate of the Harold Craxton prize at the RAM.

Tickets (£12) are available on the door and include tea and cakes.
