Spotlight on love at fundraiser
9:49am Thursday 11th October 2012 in Entertainments By Jill Harding
A CELEBRATION of love through songs and readings has been planned to help raise funds for a new community centre in Lower Bemerton.
Sally Bradshaw, David Taylor and Alistair Watson are presenting English Eccentrics in Love at Studio Theatre in Ashley Road on Saturday, October 20 at 7pm.
Opera singer Bradshaw has performed all over the world, from singing Puccini at the MTV Music Awards to recording Handel’s Agrippina which was the Sunday Times Record of the Year.
The programme will include the love letters of Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn, songs, readings and music ranging from Gracie Fields to 17th century pieces, via jazz and swing.
Tickets are £10 on the door. Proceeds will go towards the project to convert St John’s Church into a community centre.
