LUMP AND THE CORRIDORS, THE MUSIC BOX

THE Music Box in Catherine Street played host to Lump – Salisbury’s
newest musical phenomenon – on Saturday night.

Lump was formed by Colin Holton, well-known veteran of the music scene, who describes the band as “the self-proclaimed kings of mongrel rock and new saviours of rock ’n’ roll”.

Their first gig was the previous weekend at the Winchester Gate, which enabled Holton to introduce the show with tales of their vast experience on the road. With Holton’s considerable presence on vocals and guitar, tight backing from the experienced rhythm section and Frogg Moody’s keyboards to fill out the sound, they laid down a wide variety of powerful songs.

The evening provided plenty of variety, with sets from Troy Phoenix and the Thunderbirds, good-time ska outfit The Intercepteurs, and Corridors.

Corridors combined dance grooves with strong vocals from Caroline Presley and got the place nicely warmed up for Lump.
