AFRICAN contemporary dance masters Tavaziva Dance will be celebrating their tenth anniversary with a performance at Salisbury Arts Centre on Wednesday.
Tavaziva Ten features excerpts of nine signature pieces and one new solo, all performed by the company’s outstanding dancers.
Critically acclaimed for its exciting fusion of dance and music styles, Tavaziva Dance represents the diversity of black British dance through cutting edge new work.
Tavaziva Ten links some of their most iconic and beautiful works with film and digital imagery, incorporating rare early footage and interviews.
The audience will get a chance to both see breathtaking dance and learn more about the history of a ground-breaking company.
Tavaziva Dance was set up in 2004 by Zimbabwean-born founder and artistic director, Bawren Tavaziva.
Since its inception, the company has established itself as a significant presence in the UK dance landscape, bringing Tavaziva’s unique artistic vision to audiences across the country with innovative performances, commissions, residencies and education workshops.
A curtain raiser will be performed by youth dance company Jigsaw.
The performance stats at 8pm.
