A CONCERT at Salisbury Cathedral in August will raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Lady Benson, president of the Salisbury branch of Cancer Research UK, committee members and sponsors gathered at the Cathedral Cloisters recently to launch the Gaudeamus Chorale Concert.

The 120-strong group of singers is one of the leading non-professional choirs.

The concert will feature soprano Marian Goodman and baritone Dyfed Wyn Evans and music will include Fauré’s Requiem, Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs, McDowall’s Ave Maris Stella and Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens.

Iestyn Evans, director of music at St James Roman Catholic Church, will be on the organ and the conductor will be Graham Wili.

The concert will be on August 15 from 8pm.
