THE arts centre hosted the latest in its Live Lunch series of concerts on Sunday, featuring The Black Feathers.

The Black Feathers are an acoustic duo from Cirencester with Sian Chandler on vocals, and Ray Hughes on vocals and guitar. The play mostly their own songs, with an occasional cover thrown in. Their music features tight vocal harmonies with sensitive guitar accompaniment, with plenty of variation in pace.

Their finale, Take Me Back, was lively and energetic. It was preceded by the much slower When Winter Comes, in which the blend of voices and guitar was simply beautiful.

Live Lunch is a regular summer weekend feature at the Arts Centre. Admission is free and the atmosphere is always very relaxed. On Sunday the Feathers' songs suited it perfectly, and the occasion was enjoyed by musicians and audience alike.

The next Live Lunch is on Sunday, August 17, with avant-garde ethereal folk duo Blackheart. The music runs from noon to 2pm, admission is free and the café will be open for snacks and light meals.
