REGGAE fans can enjoy the sounds of Prince Fatty at the end of September.

The record producer/remixer and DJ will be bringing his futuristic take on old school reggae, soul and Latin grooves to Salisbury’s City Hall on September 27, along with MC Horseman.

Prince Fatty, real name Mike Pelanconi, rose to prominence after Brighton-based label Mr Bongo released his debut album Survival of the Fattest in 2007.

By the time his second album Super Size came out he was working on records by Little Roy, Mutant Hi-Fi and Hollie Cook, as well as rejuvenating reggae’s appeal among younger audiences with remixes of hits by Snoop Dogg, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Cyprus Hill.

Special guests on the evening will be Talisman, who re-formed in 2011 and have been playing lots of live shows, including supporting The Selectors’ recent tour.

The event is one of the first events to be presented by City Hall Concert Promotions and will be in ‘CH2’, when the auditorium is made smaller for a more intimate gig.

A free aftershow party will follow the event with music from Swan and Bob’s £.S.D records, who will be playing top tunes on vinyl.

Tickets can be bought from the box office on 01722 434434 or visit cityhallsalisbury.co.uk.
