AFTER a string of festival appearances over the summer, Frank Turner will be heading to Salisbury as part of a month-long tour.

The 32-year-old singer-songwriter from Hampshire will play at Salisbury’s City Hall on September 13 with his brilliant band The Sleeping Souls.

Turner was the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead until the band split in 2005 and he embarked on an acoustic-based solo career.

He now has five solo albums under his belt, has toured all over the world including South Africa, the USA and Australia, and has played to a sold-out 14,500 capacity O2 gig.

Turner played at the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012 and his latest album Tape Deck Heart, released last year, entered the UK charts at number two with critics hailing him one of the UK’s finest song-writers.

And he was very well-received when he headlined the Friday night line-up at the Larmer Tree Festival in July.

The Sleeping Souls are Ben Lloyd on mandolin and guitar, Tarrant Anderson on bass, Matt Nasir on piano and Nigel Powell on drums.

The show is for people over 14 years of age only and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost £24.50 and are sold unreserved as the show is an all-standing performance.
