A BAND whose music incorporates sounds from around the world will take the stage at Otley Courthouse next month.

Unfurl blend Indian ragas, flamenco and Arabian music and then add improvisation to create a unique experience each time they play.

Band leader Olivia Moore’s contribution focuses on Indian classical violin and jazz, though she also draws upon traditional Spanish, gypsy and folk music.

She is joined by Jim Faulkner on electric guitar, Gavin Barras on double bass, John Ball on tabla, and Indian Santoor and Adam Warne on Egyptian Percussion.

The group, a collective that has been evolving since 2006, will be performing at the Otley venue from 8pm on Saturday, March 14.

Unfurl are currently touring across the country as part of the Northern Line Jazz scheme, which aims to promote and support jazz artists.

Tickets for the Courthouse show cost £10 or £8 in advance, or £11 or £9 on the door, and can be booked by visiting otleycourthouse.org.uk or calling (01943) 467466.
