Area board has brought in £201K

I’D like to enlarge on the role of the Southern Wiltshire Area Board to which you made only a passing reference in your coverage of the board’s award to the Whiteparish First Responder volunteers (Journal, February 7).

During the life of this council, the Southern Wiltshire Area Board has injected more than £201,000 to around 80 different community projects.

More importantly, this funding has been successful in levering into our community area more than twice as much from Wiltshire Council, parish councils, partner agencies and other grant-giving bodies.

I believe these projects have made a really important and worthwhile contribution to community life in southern Wiltshire.
