THE trustees of Focus in on Life would like to say a huge thank you to Sally Bennett who raised £365 for our charity.

Sally took part in the endurance event Total Warrior, a gruelling 10-mile run over and through numerous tricky obstacles on a very testing course in Cumbria on August 5.

Sally was a member of the team Tilley’s Terminators, the other team members raising money for their chosen charities.

We would also like to thank our families, friends and all those who made the photograph exhibition, held in June, such a great success.

Through donations and the sale of cards, plants, refreshments and prints, just under £3,000 was raised, from which we were pleased to be able to make a donation to the work of St Nicholas Church, Porton, in thanks for allowing us to hold the exhibition there.

Focus in on Life was established in April and we are very grateful to Harnham Press, Chris White of Salisbury and Wilton , Kevin Hughes of Kevin Hughes Plants and the staff of Jessops in Salisbury for their continuing support, help and encouragement, which has been tremendous.

The money raised by the charity will be used to support specific groups and charities who are working with young people.

Areas of particular interest are conservation, sustainable living, horticulture and environmental awareness. We will also support charities which are involved in encouraging young people in various forms of self expression, such as art, drama, photography and rural crafts.

THANK you to all medical staff, carers, family and friends who helped me at a time of stress and heartache caring for my wife Mavis.

I cannot name you all.

She is now in Ashley Grange nursing home in Downton , a very nice and comfortable home.
