I WONDER how many other local residents are as amazed as I am at the length of time it’s taking to lay the new gas supply line in Netherhampton Road.
How on earth did the current contractors secure the job in the first place? They at times have left just two men working on the project.
The same contract on an important link road in Germany would have been completed in just five 12-hour night shifts with as many workers as was practicable working non-stop.
I trust there is a time constraint on the job and penalties will be paid for each overdue day.
British Gas would do well to put future contracts out to tender in Japan, USA, Germany or Poland.
