Read Highway Code
11:09am Thursday 19th September 2013 in Postbag
I CAME through Salisbury recently only to find the bus lane completely empty when it was not in use. For some reason, all the cars were in the outer lane, causing a massive tailback to Old Sarum from the two mini-roundabouts near the shops, so I took advantage of a ‘get to the front’ manoeuvre.
All the other drivers were not conversant with the Highway Code or simply hadn’t read through their theory test questions with regard to the use of bus lanes.
Maybe it was my being in an articulated lorry that made them squirm as I slowly worked my way forward. Tough life – read your Highway Code and study your theory, then maybe next time you too will get to the front of the queue.
