I WOULD like to say a big thank you to the managers of the Castle Street Tesco store for finally supplying two extra seats for weary customers by the checkouts.
I and many others – mostly the older generation – have made written complaints, badgered and cajoled any manager we could find to supply at least two more seats to add to the two provided, which were inadequate.
Perhaps Marks & Spencer should take note – they used to provide five seats by the escalators which were always occupied, now they have none.
Managers of these large stores should realise that if customers can rest for a few minutes they are far more likely to do a bit more shopping.
Thanks again to Tesco.
A KINGSTON, Wilton
WE would like to say a big thank you to our customers and the residents of Bishopdown Farm for their support on October 1.
As we are only a small company we pledged £20 to Spire FM’s Take a Pound to Work Day but then came up with the idea of a coffee morning, raffle and nail clipping for dogs. We were very pleased to raise £180 towards the CT Scanner Campaign. Thank you to everyone who took part.
HAMPTON PARK VETS, Salisbury
THE Friends of North Dorset Women’s Refuge regularly buy large quantities of duvets and pillows from a well-known store in Wilton Shopping Village.
These are given to our residents on arrival to be taken when they leave.
Recently I had to order supplies and explained to the new-to-me assistant what this was for. Imagine my surprise when I went to collect the order to find that some very generous person had overheard the conversation and had bought a duvet and pillow for us.
Such actions are heart-warming – thank you so much whoever you are for that kindness.
SARA JACSON, Chairman, Friends of North Dorset Women’s Refuge
