I AM writing a story about a boys’ school in Salisbury prior to D-Day in 1944 and wonder if anyone in the city has any photos taken during the early days of 1944 up to June which I could use to illustrate those times.

For example a Spitfire was parked in the city centre allowing children to sit in its cockpit for a penny a time; tanks and lorries going through the city on the way south; cutting down steel railings, blast walls and barrage balloons.
